Amber Daines has spent almost 20 years of her career devoted to all things communications including print and TV journalism, PR and marketing working in Australia, Asia and Europe.
Launching Bespoke Communications in 2007, Amber combined all her expertise to form a boutique agency servicing the corporate, small business, creative and charitable sectors. These days the business is focused on media training, public speaking, corporate communications strategy and professional writing services.
She been a nominee in the 2013 and 2014 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
Amber is passionate about the power of communications to change your business and your profile. With two children under five years old, Amber also thrives on the financial and mental flexibility that being self-employed allows.
While Amber has contributed to scores of blogs, articles and books over the years, in May 2013 she launched her first self-published title ‘Well Spun: Big PR and Social Media Ideas for Small Business’.
The book – available for sale online as a print and ePub file – provided a perfect platform to showcase Amber’s deep insider knowledge from two decades in the journalism and PR world, targeting small business owners who simply were unable to afford the top-shelf services of an agency like Bespoke Communications. Amber designed the book to be practical and included case studies of real life businesses, who, in turn, promoted themselves and the book when it was released.
As well as income from the book sales, Amber was able to generate a raft of mainstream local and international media interviews in, for example, the Sydney Morning Herald, StartUp Smart, 2UE radio, Sky Business, and Canadian public radio, that kept her brand and name front of mind while she was on maternity leave with her second child in mjd 2013. The book was a marketing tool and a passion project rolled into one. As a result, in late 2013 and 2014 Amber’s PR and media training business was able to double its sales revenue and expand its blue chip client base.
In 2015 she is penning her second non-fiction book on the power of public speaking for business types. It will share insider tips, methods for writing and delivering stand out talks, and over 20 case studies for all modern business leaders wanting to make online, seminar and small group speaking their secret weapon.
