Audrey Dawson is our new columnist at My Making Money Magazine

Hi. My name is Audrey Dawson and I’m the Director of Super Confidence and author of “Holy Crap! Where’s My Super Gone?! Self-Managed Super Made Simple.” At Super Confidence we provide educational, compliance advice and audit services to the self-managed super fund industry. I’d like to tell you about my “Why”. i.e why I started Super Confidence and about my passion for the industry.

I’m a CPA with over 25 years experience with the last few years in the self-managed super fund industry and in particular auditing funds. What I found was a very complex and complicated area and I could see first hand the issues that represent hurdles to people having the confidence to proactively manage their super fund. There is so much technical jargon and the government keeps changing the rules being a couple of them.

There is a lot of information out there and I wanted to try and provide a no nonsense, easy to understand, basic guide as to what those with a self-managed super fund, or those thinking of investing in one, really needed to know about their super fund.

So, being a frustrated teacher, I wrote “Holy Crap! Where’s My Super Gone? Self-Managed Super Made Simple” which I think gives you the basics that enable you to ask the right questions and learn more about your fund so that you will never have to utter those words.

I love empowering people with knowledge, as I truly believe that builds confidence. Confidence to have control not only of their super fund, but their lives and ultimately their retirement.
