Diary of a Fortune Hunter

Author Profile: Lyndon Wood

LyndonWoodBorn on January 21st 1971, Lyndon Wood left school at the age of 14 after finding very little aspect of the mainstream education system was of interest to him, and subsequently hated every minute spent in the classroom. With no qualifications and no money, Lyndon found himself living in his car at the age of 18, but he did know that he wanted his own business and be a master and the owner of his own time.
Not long after this, Lyndon managed to land himself a job in insurance on a commission-only basis. After just nine months in the industry and not even aged 20, he founded www.constructaquote.com, a leading website for UK business insurance.
Today the business has sales of more than $60 million and Lyndon is now embarking on a $1billion business adventure after creating Sunzu.com, a social media website for people in business that differs to Linkedin because members actually generate a return on time (ROT) through artificial intelligence signals providing opportunities which are a lot more targeted and personalised.

As well as this, Lyndon is a successful serial entrepreneur and angel investor best known as the as founder of Moorhouse Group, L&S Investments, Xbroker and BusinessFreeTrade.com. He is due to launch nano holds barred starlight talking Sky TV show Fortune Hunter in April which will fulfil his passion to cut through the bull and assist business owners and managers for real.

Book Synopsis

The book can be purchased here: www.diaryofafortunehunter.com

“Diary of a Fortune Hunter is as quirky and unconventional as I am, but this approach has not done me any harm and will help you. The book is broken down as a 52-week diary planner, covering topics as diverse as getting the most out of social media, to dealing with time thieves – those people who constantly want to steal your time and divert you from your true purpose.

There is advice on everything from dealing with advisors, to employees, to the thorny issue of scaling up your business fast. I have further sub-divided it into Seasons, to reflect the journey of an entrepreneur through the various stages of the process, from starting the business (Spring), building it up (Summer), dealing with any problems (Autumn), and then selling up and realising your fortune (Winter). If my experience can help another Fortune Hunter in any small way, I will be delighted.”

Benefits of Writing the Book

When writing the book I really wanted to get under the skin of business success. The book was never intended to be another naff ‘how to’ for entrepreneurs; it’s a quirky and real account of how I built my empire and how other CEOs, managers and business owners can do the same.

It’s about being creative-destructive; it’s about precision networking; it’s about hyper-growth; it’s about perception and reality. It’s about becoming the business your competitors want to be.

Writing the book was a hefty refresh on how I overcame my business challenges and it reminded me that it’s not about success, it’s about the journey towards achieving it.

The book has strengthened my profile as an entrepreneurial authority and as a result, I will be starting my own channel – FORTUNEHUNTER.TV – on Sky Info in April.

Each episode will represent a theme in my book and I will give entrepreneurs the ability to learn how to micro-segment, boost business profit and how to get rid of time thieves. But most importantly, I will do it in a non-vanilla way that will make you see your business differently.
