The two letter writers on the OPINION PAGE of the Hailsham and Eastbourne Herald seem to go in for Character assassination when it comes to Stephen Lloyd’s status. It is rather clever of them to know what exactly is going through his mind, but to tell you truth I don’t think they know their own minds! I suspect they are Conservatives stirring up trouble in a dirty and disgraceful way. It is fact that he’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t and pointing out alleged facts thought by those childish minds why the decisions that Stephen Lloyd has made is in fact to honour the wishes of the people of Eastbourne and Willingdon. It is not to gain votes as one has stated. It is obvious to me that this person has been fed with treasonable lies. Maybe treason is too strong a word to use – but when you think of the all the good that Stephen Lloyd has done for the local populace and remembering he is not superman and he can’t win every individual’s battle, far from it but he doesn’t hide himself from ridiculed remarks or letters in the newspaper by cowards with single minded and tunnelled vision views.
I understand that the Conservatives are supporting Caroline Ansell again for the next election – but I wonder whether we who live in Eastbourne and Willingdon will actually see her or will it be just an election poster or a photograph in the newspaper planting a tree or at some social event. In the last election, even the gimmick used by the Conservatives of the appearance of David Cameron and Boris Johnson in Eastbourne didn’t persuade the people to vote for Caroline Ansell. Although I have heard it on the grapevine that Caroline is doing things now in Eastbourne and Willingdon, probably realising being a figurehead is not enough to win votes.
As we all know if we vote for the Conservative party they will close down more establishments as they have done in the past when they were in power because they stated that money was tight and yet they managed to give themselves a hefty rise. Now the people who deserve more pay are Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and all Social Care Workers and people of that ilk – but do they get the same rate as East Sussex County Councillors? Not on your Nelly.
We all must agree it has been a difficult time for all Members of Parliament during this BREXIT TIME and I have some sympathy towards Theresa May because she has worked very hard to do the right thing.
To the two letter writers, just be careful you don’t fall into the Conservative Trap because some of the people you think to support may not be as squeaky clean as you think!
