I have become rather disillusioned with the so called “People’s Post Code Lottery” – I know that like every other lottery it is a game of chance – but it seems to me that the Midlands and the North of England are served better than the South of England. I know of just one winner in the south that had won a substantial prize since the lottery was first introduced in 2005. The Company claim to have contributed £8.6 billion to charitable organisations around the world. This lottery was launched in the North of England in 2005 as a pilot scheme. After a successful launch, it expanded into Scotland in 2007 and Wales in 2010.
Now that looks pretty obvious to me that the populace that have joined the People’s Post Code Lottery in the South of England are more likely to win a ticket to Mars in a Rocket Ship than win on this lottery which seems rather unfair on those persons contributing for the different charities that People’s Post Code Lottery support.
As far as charities are concerned I am pleased that there are companies that are being set up to finance them – but without people contributing it would be doomed to failure and there is no mention that the company has launched the People’s Post Code Lottery in the South.
The People’s Post Code Lottery do not state what the odds are of winning a prize as a spokesperson for the company has stated: “Details of the number of tickets in the draws are commercially sensitive.” Whatever that means seems to point towards the gobbledygook language we so often hear from Members of Parliament as an example.
Perhaps it is a waste of money for people living in the South of England to contribute to the People’s Post Code Lottery after investigating the fairness of the Company who are not willing to divulge the true basis of how everybody’s ticket is entered into the lottery wheel or whatever they use to pick the winning tickets – but it sounds to me that not all the tickets are chosen because of that statement made – so in fact your ticket might not be entered at all and to keep you sweet they are willing to let you win £10 or £15 and the only way you are going to win £30,000 is to move to the Scotland or Wales.
