Why we are all swamped with the news regarding whether Boris Johnson held a party or not during lockdown is neither here or there as it is two years of old news and I am sure in my own mind he did because, why add that social distancing was adhered to – it appears pretty obvious to me. Just pause for a moment. While Boris was enjoying the party he said never took place, people were dying from Covid-19 and relatives could not attend in numbers to say their goodbyes. Had Boris done the decent thing and resigned as our Prime Minister all these problems would have disappeared and now Tony Blair is a knight. The flawed warmonger of 2001 and 2003! We are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Looks like the ‘Old Boy’s Network’ is still working. I’ll scratch your back and you can do mine later! Tony Blair shouldn’t feel too smug about his knighthood as the person who recommended him is a devout liar!

I wonder whether Eastbourne Borough Council will give the refuse collectors what they have asked for or are we to have several weeks of rubbish outside our houses for incoming rat invasion? E B C offered them a 7% rise. The Union are now demanding a 25% pay rise. (Nurses only got 3%). It’s only a small proportion of the waste crew who are striking, but they are now drafting in people from outside the area to stop the other workers from doing their job. Is the GMB Union breaking the law by blockading Courtlands Road Depot? It was reported that last year our government had paid out substantial amounts to each local Council for road repairs and other essential services. A sum of money had been quoted and whether you can believe that it was four million. So where has it all gone?
Anyone for Tennis!
Whether you’re number one in the tennis world and carry around a very large cup and have photographs taken kissing it – it’s obvious that the Australian government are adamant in making themselves look really silly, especially when two governing bodies from the same country are looking daggers at each other. One faction wants to deport Novak Djokovic because they don’t want him competing in the Australian Open Tennis Championship and the chance of another grand slam, the other faction pretends to honour him by allowing him to take part! What do the Australian people want?

More than UK 175,000 death certificates have now mentioned Covid-19 since the pandemic began, the Office for National Statistics figures reveal and the disbelievers seem to think that this pandemic is a joke, it’s not real. The UK has recorded just over 140,000 new Covid cases today, while new data shows more than 39,000 NHS workers were off absent last week due to the virus – placing huge pressure on hospitals. Meanwhile, the latest figures revealed more than 39,142 NHS staff at hospital trusts in England were absent for “Covid-related reasons” on January 2. This was an increase of 59 percent on the previous week. But a larger 43,200 staff were absent due to other sickness reasons, meaning Covid accounted for less than half of absences.
